Choosing the Right Racing Suit

"The less comfortable the suit, the better," saying Skein Taight of AquaFit Suit-makers. "Especially with the little kids, you see some baggy fitting suits. And for the little ones it doesn't matter much, for the senior swimmers, every wrinkle adds drag."
Fitting a competition suit is a process of trialling sizes, shapes, materials and features against your budget. It's not hard to spend a several hundred dollars on a suit, that hard part is getting the right fit at any price.
"Before a big race, it will take me maybe 20 to 25 minutes to put on my jammers. I'm not being slow or wasting time, I'm easing the suit up my legs and it's slow going because the fabric has no give and you don't want to rip it or damage it," says Skein. "After half a dozen races, if my suit is getting too easy to put on, then it's not my top suit anymore.
